First Signing - July 19 at Panera Bread in Trinity

went live just two weeks ago on June 16, 2014,
and I now have readers in nine states. I get hits on
my blog from all over the world. If you are out there,
and you're reading my books, please let me know at
this blog. I would love to hear from you.

I will launch RACHEL with the first signing
at Panera Bread in Trinity, Florida, on
Saturday, July 19, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
I look forward to seeing all my local friends
for coffee and for celebrating the publication of
my fourth Novel of the Old South.
If you are close by on that morning, please come
see us. Colonel Andrew Domarasky will be signing
with me, so you will meet him and some other
folks you may not know. I always look forward
to my first signing. Joint Venture and General Manager
Tim Curlee generously allows me to have it at Trinity Panera.
He said, "You write it here. You should always have your first
signing here." Now, that's special to me.


I will be announcing my Mississippi and Tennessee signing
tour soon, attempting to get it all scheduled in one month's
timeframe. I will post as soon as I have that completed. I
have some new places to visit to take my story of the
Payne Family of Sarepta, Mississippi, the war years
and Reconstruction and the aftermath of a most
devastating time in American History.

My inspiration came the day I visited Isaac's house in Slate Springs, Mississippi in 2007. It was dead of winter and, at the time, I was writing The Mississippi Boys , the manuscript almost finished. I gave my new book its title that day— Isaac's House . It had been hard for me to say goodbye to The Mississippi Boys , and it was settled, I didn't have to. I would write Isaac's House , and behind it, Joab . These are my people. Not the Paynes, for they are my fictional family. But the Clarks—T.G., Jonathan, Albert Henry, Isaac, Joab and Samuel Clark. March 26, 1998. Mississippi . "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Perfect verse for today. Daddy is in the presence of the Lord. We buried him today under blue skies. After all was said and done, we—the children, Mother, and our extended families—sang over Daddy's grave, as we picked flowers for ourselves, a constant reminder of the resurrection of the body. We would see him again. A thousand images of Daddy raced through my mind. He was a giant of a man. A prince, loving, carring. A hard worker, but never a slave to anything or anyone but the Lord and his family. He had no enemies. His presence filled a room. His laughter was contagious. His compassion, unsurpassed. Bringing Honor to the Clark Legend!

JOAB went live today. I'm always left with this numb feeling when I hear those words. Now what? Well, first I have to wait until I receive my author copies so I can read the "book" for the first time. It's always so much more enjoyable to read a book than to scroll through a manuscript. Then I can let everyone know that JOAB is available at the publisher and just about any on - line bookstore worldwide. I should receive my author copies in about a week. Then I'll let everyone know. I am thankful, excited about the future and what will become of JOAB and the other books in The Trilogy.
